oused in the downstairs of the Dickens Opera House is the Dickens Tavern...
Originally built in 1881 by William Henry Dickens, a relative of the famous author Charles Dickens, William came to the area in 1860 as a young man, the son of Mary Allen.
When he built the opera house he was one of the largest land owners of the time. The parcel that the building sits on was given to his father by Ulysees S. Grant, the president.
We offer live music, shows, and entertainment two and three nights-a-week. Nationally touring acts such as Tab Benoit, Tony Furtado, Trombone Shorty, The Infamous Stringdusters and Reverend Horton Heat. In addition, we support local music, up-and-coming bands from the front range.
This ain't your grandparents' opera house!
