A Rich History

The building that houses Dickens Opera House and the adjoining Dickens 300 Prime steakhouse was built in 1881 by William Henry Dickens, a relative of famous author Charles Dickens. When he built the opera house, he was one of the largest landowners of the time. The parcel that building sits on was given to his father by President Ulysses S. Grant. For over a century, Dickens Opera House has been a vibrant part of Longmont’s history. Learn more about our history here.
